Helping to manage public green spaces around Cottenham to improve biodiversity, public enjoyment and engagement. Wild Fen Edge
A WhatsApp group to share your sightings of wildlife, ask questions, get IDs and more if you’re in the local area known as the Fen Edge Patch (centred on Cottenham and including the nearby villages of Rampton and Willingham, Landbeach and Waterbeach). Cottenham Parish Council (CPC) Climate & Ecological Emergency Working Group (CEEWG)
A group of parish councillors and other environmental groups seeking to identify how CPC’s activities could be adapted to reduce its contribution to GHG emissions and improve biodiversity. Also to look at ways the Council can help residents prepare and withstand threats associated with climate change and build awareness and networking with other village groups which have sustainability and climate and ecological interests. They have set up monthly ‘Climate Conversations’ meetings on Saturday mornings on a range of topics. In addition, the group hopes to foster biodiversity-friendly gardening across the village.
