Sustainable Cottenham has teamed up with Cottenham Community Centre to put on an event supporting local residents to get their homes fit for winter.
The Home Energy Saving Drop-In will take place at Cottenham Community Centre (opposite the Co-op) on Tuesday 19 September from 5.30pm to 9pm. It will feature a host of experts ready to give tailored advice on everything from fitting solar panels or heat pumps to getting support with bills or the cost of home improvements. Here is the timetable of talks so you can time your visit (speakers will also be available to answer questions throughout):
Experts include representatives from Cambridge Solar, Better Housing Better Health, Utility Warehouse, Green Hat Construction, local councils and charity Cambridge Carbon Footprint. There will be a programme of short talks, gaming with a carbon-saving theme and free tea and coffee. The community centre bar will also be open from 6pm.
Many people want to improve the heating and insulation of their homes but can’t easily find out what would work best for them. This Energy Saving Drop-In event will be a brilliant opportunity to ask experts’ advice and hear some interesting short talks while relaxing with a drink and refreshments. And all right here in Cottenham. Added to that, everyone attending will qualify for free entry into a draw for Sunday lunch or pizzas at our popular local pub, The Chequers.
The event is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring along their utility bills or relevant photos of their homes for discussion with the experts.
